In today’s world, it is undeniable that youthfulness, attractiveness, and presentation are important. Cosmetic surgery is the modern method to improve a person’s sense of self-worth by improving his or her appearance. Dr. Ram Kalus understands that cosmetic surgery needs are very personal, and he approaches each patient’s desires with acute attention.
Plastic Surgery of the Carolinas offers many options to improve the skin, including laser hair removal and BOTOX® treatments. Contact our South Carolina plastic surgery center directly for more information on these or any procedure. We are always available to discuss individual options.
Crow's feet, unsightly smile lines, and other wrinkles need not be permanent. Dr. Ram Kalus helps patients come out from behind those facial lines with BOTOX® treatments performed at his South Carolina office. Made of a purified chemical that is injected into the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, BOTOX® treatments can restore a youthful appearance quickly, safely, and easily. After the procedure, patients will notice the diminished appearance of moderate and severe facial lines.
BOTOX® treatments are ideal for patients interested in wrinkle reduction without facelift surgery or more invasive facial rejuvenation techniques. However, to maintain results it will be necessary to return for follow-up BOTOX® treatments, which can be administered quickly and effectively at our South Carolina practice.
Soft tissue fillers are the fastest growing development in alternatives or complements to facial plastic surgery. They are ideal for patients who are not quite ready for surgery, or want to achieve an even greater benefit from their surgery. A variety of fillers exist including those which contain Hyaluronic Acid (HA) such as Restylane®, Perlane®, and Juvederm®. These are all wonderful options for facial soft tissue augmentation that are relatively inexpensive, with results lasting from 6-12 months. One of the longer acting fillers is Radiesse® which consists of calcium hydroxyapatite and has a microsturcture similar to see coral. The results from Radiesse® usually last about 18 months. Finally, Artefill® is the first and only FDA approved permanent filler with wonderful long lasting softening of deep nasolabial folds, instantly subtracting years from one's appearance.
Aging, exposure to the elements, and heredity can cause skin to lose its luster. Skin scarred by acne or accidents can diminish self-confidence. Dermabrasion can produce a new smoothness to skin, for a youthful, attractive appearance.
During dermabrasion, an oscillating wire brush or burr delicately removes the top layers of skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and scars. Immediately following the procedure, the skin is expected to be red and swollen, but after a short healing period skin will look clear and healthy.
One of the most popular and effective skin resurfacing techniques today is microdermabrasion. The procedure is virtually painless and has no side effects. During microdermabrasion, sand-like crystals are applied to the skin to remove toxins, impurities, and blemishes to reveal the fresh, healthy skin just below the surface. The procedure is performed multiple times over a period of one to two weeks. Once complete, patients will enjoy clean, healthy skin. Please contact our office for more information.
For more than 20 years, physicians have been using Retin-A® for the successful treatment of acne. Retin-A® is used in the form of a cream, which is massaged into the face once each day for 8–12 months. Frequency of application fluctuates depending on the severity of skin damage and the skin's reaction to the treatment. Because of expected dryness, moisturizing lotion is generally used along with Retin-A®. Through continued use, patients notice improvements in the tone and texture of their skin. Retin-A® has also been used to manage wrinkles and age spots. For healthy, beautiful skin, contact Dr. Ram Kalus today.
