Is ThermiTight a Good Alternative to a Breast Lift?

This is a question being asked by many women who are wondering if there is an effective way to nonsurgically lift the breasts. The answer is “maybe” – ThermiTight is not considered a good alternative for a woman who needs a significant breast lift, a procedure medically referred to as mastopexy. However, for very mild laxity, ThermiTight can be effective in achieving some degree of tightening and elevation of a nipple/areola that might have sagged a bit, either after nursing or being a bit older. Despite its ability to tighten lax skin in the chest, the ThermiTight treatment is not able to remove the excess skin and/or tissue often responsible for significant breast drooping.

In contrast, mastopexy involves the excision of extra, loose breast skin and tightening of surrounding tissues to help lift and reshape the breasts for a more youthful-looking appearance. In addition, the nipple-areolar complexes can be resized and repositioned (if necessary), which can only be accomplished to a mild degree with ThermiTight.

Ultimately, none of this is to say ThermiTight is not a good and/or effective treatment for the right indications. In fact, ThermiTight can often be an excellent option for individuals interested in nonsurgically tightening lax skin on various areas of the body, including the face, neck, chest, back, and arms.
